Bio-Diversity

ANNADANA Project is a grass root non- profit organization of 10 years, conserving diversity of vegetable food plants to support sustainable natural farming. ANNADANA offers a wider range of organic open pollinated seeds of vegetable varieties to gardeners and farmers. Today ANNADANA Seed Bank conserves and distributes 90 varieties of nutritious organic vegetables of all shapes, tastes and colors.

Seed Saving - "Traditional seeds are a gift of Life to Life itself"

Without agriculture there is no civilization and without seeds there is no agriculture. Traditional heirloom, locally adapted varieties of ANNADANA ensure farmers and gardeners of their seeds for the next season as it has been for generations. Each year we grow, conserve and multiply many heirloom varieties carefully selected for their yield, resilience, color and taste. We encourage you to try our varieties and adopt the ones suited to your need and agro-climatic condition and… to save your seeds.

Soil Fertility Management

Since the last 10 years ANNADANA has adopted traditional and modern farming methods to build up an ecological and productive organic system. Techniques like green manuring, composting farm residues, bio plant extract and innovative cultural practices have been used and documented on small and large scale on cereals and vegetable crops. These techniques are simple to understand, adapted to the marginal farmer and produce healthy and sustainable crops.

Seed Fairs and Seed Exchange Melas

ANNADANA's team participates in farmer's and Farmers association's events such as organic biodiversity fairs, organic seed melas and national gathering of farmers, NGO's, working on environment and organic agriculture. Such events are essentials to exchange seeds, techniques, information and share experiences.

Farms and Gardens - Advices

ANNADANA occasionally offer technical expertise and advice to others private or institutional farms and large scale farming projects, in different agro-climatic and social conditions, for planning approaches and adapting organic techniques to suit different crops, resources, regions and people.

Educational Booklets & DVD Technical Packages

To raise awareness, ANNADANA makes available educational materials, DVD and booklets that cover topics such as organic rice, millet, ground nut, vegetable cultivation and  soil fertility management, organic plant growth promoters, bio pest control, seed saving tips (all our booklets are highly visual and demonstrative to facilitate learning).
