ANNADANA Interactive Training Workshop

Greetings from Annadana Soil and Seed Savers,

From SOIL to SEED, a three day interactive training workshop by Annadana's Technical Experts who arrive especially from Auroville to Ishana farm, Bangalore.  Soil and Seeds are sacred to us. Learn these simple integrated farming techniques successfully practiced for over a decade by Annadana and become hands on experts. Indulge in the delight of growing your own food, as farming is no rocket science.

We are delighted to share with you a sustainable food security model being translated into our fields. Over 250 raised beds are being prepared for cultivation of organic vegetable seed production.  A rare treat to bio diversity of carrots, table radish, swiss chard, onions, peppers, brinjals, tomatoes, corn, gourds and more going to seed. Varietal purity is imperative to maintain the origin/ source of traditional OP seeds. A skilled artisan technique fast being lost is revived here, this will be an integral part of our workshop.  For kitchen garden enthusiasts, an innovative kitchen garden model with companion cropping of seasonal diversity for food production will be shared.

We equip you with sound technical know-how on Soil regeneration techniques from the preparation of organic growth promoters, compost making, mulching, bio extracts to seed sowing techniques followed by Seed Saving. Come join us in conserving Biodiversity.

Annadana conserves and multiplies about 100  varieties of Organic Open Pollinated vegetable seeds and makes them available to farmers and urban consumers. The response to our first workshop was encouraging and heartening. Following pouring requests and demand from our enthused new age farmers, home gardeners, we  continue in our endeavor.

* 25 participant slots are available for the residents of Bangalore and 10 slots for Outstation participants. All outstation participants are requested to find their own accommodation, should they wish to attend. We are happy to lend support in suggesting venues close to the workshop.

* Please find enclosed the workshop programme giving you a detailed insight on intensity of training. A map to our location is also enclosed.
* Each batch can take up to 30 - 35 maximum registered members only, so as to give you practical hands on approach to becoming masters on Soil and Seeds. Thereafter practicing the same in your homes, farms with much ease and confidence.
* The course will be simplified to suit these languages - English, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada.
* Attire - Causal full sleeved cotton shirt and trousers preferable with comfortable sneakers.
